On Sunday 6th September 2020 the Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews presented Victoria’s road map for reopening for Regional Victoria and Metropolitan Melbourne. The plans outline both a stepped model integrated with tailored restrictions for industries and community.

The SRV website also contains current information relating to the restrictions which came into effect as of 11.59pm on Sunday 13th September 2020. There is a significant lack of information relating to the sporting industry and it is expected that over the coming weeks further details will be announced by the Victorian government....which we look forward to receiving!
Fortunately in regional areas outdoor pools are now able to open under the Roadmap guidelines for Regional Victoria. However despite this, we do not have any details regarding the return of community sport, and until such time, we are unable to resume any form of diving program.
The government does acknowledge there is still more work to be done in understanding and clarifying what sport will look like over the coming months and we will continue to work closely with Sport and Recreation Victoria and Vicsport to address the various challenges and provide specific feedback into the process.
Whilst we were all hoping for more positive news, we are certainly moving in the right direction. For now, we need to stay focused on overcoming this virus so when we return to the pool, it is for the long haul!
