Melbourne to host 2018 Australian Age Championships

Published Wed 26 Jul 2017

We are pleased to announce that Victoria has been selected to host the 2018 Australian Age Diving Championships.  Due to the Commonwealth Games being held on the Gold Coast,QLD 4-15 April, Age nationals cannot be held during the normal Easter holidays. We are especially pleased to be hosting as this will mean less time that our Victorians will have to miss school/work due to travel.  The dates are most likely to be 26-29 April 2018 with 24 & 25 (ANZAC Day) to be training days and the venue will be the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre in Albert Park.

This as an amazing opportunity to showcase our high caliber divers, officials and volunteers and to welcome others to our great state.

In order to host an event of this size, we will be asking for many volunteers, planners and supporters both before and during the event.  For those of you that have thought about becoming a judge or official, now is the time to get trained up.  We will offer many opportunities between now and April to learn how. We are now taking Expressions of Interest for our Planning Committee. Click Here or follow the link below to get involved.

For our Age divers...you will have 3 local opportunities to qualify for the Age National Championships...and the first one is our 2017 Victorian Age Qualifier on Saturday 19 August.  This will be a great chance to earn a qualifying score EARLY...Register Now.  The next opportunity to qualify will be 20-22 October at the Pullar Family Championship.  Lastly divers will have the Victorian Age Championships to qualify in February.  The Victorian Country Championships (Mildura, VIC) in January is also a proposed qualifier.
