The 2019 Diving Victoria Annual General Meeting was held at MSaC on Sunday 20 October following the conclusion of the Pullar Family Championships.
The process for the election of directors resulted in the re-election of Alex Scanlon and Hector Simpson and the election of Dean Pullar to the Board, for two year terms.
Dean is a celebrated athlete, having won a bronze medal at the 1998 FINA World Championships in the 3m synchro event, a silver medal at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in 1m and 3m events and a bronze medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games in the 3m synchro event. Dean has been a national selector for Diving Australia since 2006 and currently operates a very successful business in regional Victoria.
The Board would also like to extend their sincere thanks to the outgoing Director’s, David Buttifant and Paul Beech. David’s tremendous commitment and enthusiasm to the Board over the past 12 months has been highly valued, particularly within the areas of high performance and athlete wellbeing. The Board also recognises the outstanding contribution and ongoing commitment of Paul Beech to Diving Victoria over an extended period of time. Paul’s tenure has spanned 9 years as a member of the Board, along with many more years as a judge representing both Diving Victoria and Diving Australia. Paul’s knowledge and unrelenting efforts in support of the organisation has been extraordinary and Diving Victoria thanks him very much for all that he has done.
