Club Development Workshop delivers key messages
Published Tue 29 Nov 2016
Saturday November 26 saw members of Diving Victoria, Swimming Victoria and Water Polo Victoria respectively converge on MSAC for a Club Development Workshop.
The three-hour workshop was broken up into three parts, the first of which focused on the rise of the digital space and how to capture a greater audience using social media. Pre-eminent digital technology consultant Sean Callanan spoke to the current digital trends, and provided some tips on how to build an audience using digital technology.
The second and third parts of the workshop focused on the new Child Safe Standards, and ways in which clubs could best see the cultural change called for within the legislation. Whilst Fiona Jones (session 2) of Vicsport focused on what the Child Safe Standards meant, Kathy Tessier (session 3) facilitated a workshop that saw clubs complete an audit of current club practice, and looked at ways the clubs could score some 'quick wins'.
The three respective sporting bodies flagged that similar collaborative events may become a permanent fixture on each sport's respective annual calendar.
Video of the workshop will be made available to clubs imminently.
