Age Nationals - Day 4 Wrap

Age Nationals – Day 4 Competition (Sunday 17/4).

Day 4 was another good day in the pool all round for Team Victoria.
The morning started with U11 Girls 3m spring. Lea Malina took out the top spot with Kiara Field (3rd) and Olivia Roche (4th) close behind. SA took out 2nd place.
In the 15/15 Boys 1m spring, the top 3 places went to NSW and SA with Harry Davies coming in a solid 4th position.
Event 27, the Girls 14/15 5m platform. 21 divers lined up to contest this event. Abby Rowley took top place with QLD and NSW taking 2nd and 3rd respectively. Amy Kenny just missed a placing taking 4th position. Emily Foord (8th), Anjali Jackson (9th), Matilda Baker (11th), Elise Marcun (12th), Paris Hefford (13th), Darcy Furman (14th), Hanna Vlamis (15th), Claire Lumsden (17th) and Sophie Westcott (18th) all dived well in a tough field.
Next we had Girls 16-18 3m spring. WA, QLD and NSW all took places. Ellyse Byrne (6th) and Sophia James (7th) did well in a field of 14 divers.
Leading into lunch Girls 12/13 1m spring – a large field of 26 divers. NSW and QLD once again took the top 3 spots, with Holly Kenealy in 6th place, Caitlin Westcott in 8th and Zoe Adam-Gedge in 9th. Scoring was very close. Isobelle Brosnahan and Sophie Bumpstead in 11th place and Piper Bennett in 14th.
Boys 16-18 Platform resulted in Victoria all the way. Cooper Read took top honours with Jordan Thein (2nd) and Marc Jencik (3rd).
Winding up the day was Men’s 30-49 Platform. Rohan Blake took 1st place convincingly.
Final event was U13 Boys/mixed 3m synchro. NSW and WA took 1st and 2nd, while Josh Herington and Ryan King performed excellently coming in 3rd place.
All in all, what a great Nationals it has been!
