The 2017 Val Beitzel Memorial Challenge is a Novice/Encouragement diving meet for all Diving Victoria members that meet the eligibility criteria below.  Please consult your coach before registering for this event.  This event will take place in between Sessions 2 and 3 of the Victorian Open Championships and we will endeavor to have the warm-up during the Open Platform Preliminary warm-up.  Once entries are finalized a final program and time-line will be sent.

• Sunday 9 April (midnight)
• Entries are on-line only via the Diving Victoria Website

Late Entries:

• $45 Registration
• Divers will dive by invitation only (Not eligible for medals)

Late Entry Deadline:

• Sunday 16 April (midnight)

Eligibility:

• Age is as of 31 December 2017

Divers Ineligible to compete are as follows:

• Divers not registered as financial members of Diving Victoria as a Diver – Level 2 or above
• Medalists on 1M or 3M springboard in Age events from the following competitions: 2016 Pullar Family Championship, 2017 Victorian Age Championships
• Divers who competed in an Elite Junior event this season (from July 2016 -)
• Divers without the required number of divers as per the criteria below

Dive Criteria:

• One dive list will be submitted with 1m and/or 3m dives only (No platform)
• No dive of the same number may be repeated 
• Divers may choose up to 2 of the following (all at DD 1.0)

1. Forward Jump (100)  A, B or C
2. Back Jump (200) A, B or C
3. Forward Entry (11) A, B or C
4. Back Entry (21) A, B or C

A: Straight, B: Pike, C: Tuck

Dive Requirements:  (Boys and Girls are separate events)

14/15 Years Girls, 14/15 Years Boys

• 3 dives from different groups @ 5.4 DD limit PLUS 3 dives from different groups

12/13 Years Girls, 12/13 Years Boys

• 3 dives from different groups @ 5.4 DD limit  PLUS 2 dives from different groups

10/11 Years Girls, 10/11 Years Boys

• 2 dives from different groups @ 3.6 DD limit  PLUS 2 dives from different groups

9 & Under Girls, 9 & Under Boys

• 2 dives from different groups @ 3.6 DD limit  PLUS 1 dive from any group

Different groups: Front, Back, Reverse, Inward and Twist

Dive Sheets:

• Due via Dive Recorder www.diverecorder.co.uk before 9am Thursday 20 April 
• Late sheets or late changes - if accepted - will result in a diver competing by invitation (not eligible for medals)

MSAC Entry Fee:

• Competitors, Coaches & Officials: Free 
• Spectators: $2.50
• Payable at MSAC reception
• Entrance via the Stage 2 (Aquatic) entrance only

Awards:

• Medals presented to the top 3 finishers in each event
• Doug Walton Trophy (male) & Ian Nichols Trophy (female): for outstanding potential shown during the competition

• Sign in (Approx 12:15pm)
• Open Warm-up Approx 12:45-1:15
• Event Begins  Approx 1:15 - 1:45pm
