Level 1 Diving Coach Practical Workshop

  • Minimum numbers must be met for the course to go-ahead.

Diving Victoria is excited to deliver its second and final Level 1 Coach Practical Workshop for 2024.

This Practical Workshop is a necessary component towards becoming an accredited Diving Australia Level 1 Coach and will be expertly facilitated by Diving Victoria Head Coach, Jack Taylor.

Please note: There is no minimum age restriction for completing this Practical Workshop or the other pre-Accreditation requirements. However, Coach candidates must be at least 16 years of age to gain their Level 1 national Accreditation.  

Registrations for this Workshop will necessarily close one (1) week prior to Course delivery to ensure there is ample time for registrants to complete the required prior learning and participation requirements.

Pre-required learning includes:

·       Completion of two (2) Diving Australia Online Modules (access fee included in Workshop Registration)

o   Diving Australia Level 1: Coach Education Course

o   Diving Australia Level 1: Introduction to Dryland Training Course

·       Completion of the Australian Sports Commission’s Community Coaching Essential Skills Course.

·       Registration for a Volunteer Working with Children Check (free) if not already a Card Holder or otherwise exempt.

Once all online components and the full course has been completed trainee coaches must then complete 25 hours of supervised coaching hours with an approved Level 2 coach.

During the practical Course there will be regularly scheduled learning breaks. There is a café on site or you may wish to bring your own food. There is also a refrigerator and microwave you may use if required.
