Diving Victoria has a passion for empowering our Coaches and our Athletes in every way we can. With that vision in mind, on Saturday 26th March from 1.30-2.30pm, in conjunction with Positive Sports Coaching (PSC), we will be hosting an online session delivered by PSC’s Executive Director and Founder, Matthew Scholes. Matthew’s previous roles include being CEO of Athletics Victoria, Secretary General for the Victorian Commonwealth Games Association and a Lecturer in Sport & Fitness at Swinburne University.
The session is specifically designed to introduce the evidence based approach to positive coaching techniques to the Diving Victoria community. With PSC’s work in this area already being heavily utilised by the likes of Melbourne Storm, Adelaide Crows, the AIS and Gymnastics Australia , to name a few, their work in the sporting field has the dual aim of both improving performance and promoting wellbeing. A ‘must have’ as we venture out of the pandemic and catch up on contemporary coaching practices.
The athlete-coach relationship is, by its very nature, two-way. For this reason, although primarily aimed at coaches, this session delivered by PSC will be open to all DV members, inclusive of families, athletes, officials and committee members. This whole-of-sport approach is a fantastic way to encourage open and transparent dialogue within our sport and affiliated clubs.
Registration for this event is required and will include some brief data collection of those attending:
